To kick off Black History Month, Dominique Kagele (FEMBA '20), Stephen Johnson (FEMBA '21), and Vanessa Nunez (MD/MBA '22) share how they're driving change to deliver sustainable impact in the lives of black and other underrepresented communities. Dominique Kagele, Ph.D. shares her efforts, post-Anderson, in improving health outcomes in all communities at her job in Corporate Development and Product Strategy Team at Genentech/Roche, and specifically in black and other underserved communities in her side project building a biotech accelerator and venture fund. Stephen A. Johnson is an entrepreneur and investor and founded Bright Minds Tutoring, a company focused on reducing educational gaps by providing resources to underserved communities in STEM. Vanessa Nunez is a dual-degree UCLA medical and Anderson student committed to developing sustainable, system-based interventions to eliminate health inequities and increase access to health services in under-resourced communities.
